Oversized & Wide-Body Enclosed Transport Guide

Standard enclosed trailers accommodate vehicles up to roughly 80 inches wide and under 7 feet tall. Lifted custom trucks, wide-body exotics, dually pickups, and lowered prototypes frequently exceed these dimensions.

Oversized enclosed transport uses trailers configured with extended ramps, wider door openings, and taller interior clearance to load vehicles that would not fit—or would be damaged trying to fit—a standard enclosed bay.

For lifted trucks with oversized tires, confirm the carrier's ramp angle and door clearance. A steep approach can bottom out a lowered custom frame, while a narrow door can scrape flared fenders or wide-body kits.

Wide-body exotics with extended track widths may require soft-tie straps positioned further outboard and wheel chocks that accommodate the wider stance. Not every enclosed carrier stocks this equipment.

Prototype and confidential vehicles may require covered, sealed loading with no exterior visibility. Discuss confidentiality requirements with the carrier in advance and confirm the trailer can be loaded indoors or behind a privacy screen if needed.
